If you are having credit problems then you are not alone. In fact, your problems may be made worse by credit card companies that have poor Internet policies. For example, Credit One will charge users $5.95 each time they pay their credit card balance over the Internet. Yes, you are charged for paying them on time. This fee will be added to your account. If you attempt to pay this $5.95 the next month, you cannot pay it over the Internet. Instead, you must send a check. If you fail to send the fee then you will be charged a $29.00 late fee and your credit report will be dinged.
Be very careful to understand this policy. You have charged nothing and you have not used the credit card. Yet, you will owe the company $34.95 for no reason.

Credit One refused to reverse the charges on my credit card and remove the statement on my credit report that I failed to make a payment on time. Instead, they wanted me to fax over a copy of my credit report showing that they had reported a failure to pay. Don\’t they keep records?
This website is my way of saying the policy is poor and warning others not to fall into this trap. If I were you, close the credit card account and find a reputable bank.
